降雨量の少ないエリアでは、コミュニティ、集落の発生は、井戸やため池など、水源が基点となる。そこでCOAFキャンパスもまたこの地にふさわしく、水のシステムと組み合わせてコミュニティ、教育拠点の新しいあり方を示すことを考えた。ここでは、高低差を利用して流される水を貯めるように、また流すように教育施設を配置する。上流では子供が植物を育てたり、触れて遊んだ水が、アグロランドの農業用水となる。水を無駄なく段階的に利用することを可視化し、教育に取り入れる。これは、周辺の学校では学べない、この地に必要な、水と関係づけた革新的な教育プログラムとなる。灌漑システムと融合した建築は、緑豊かなアグリランドを育み、ここでしかできない教育プログラムと共に、COAFセンターの価値と象徴性を高める。

In areas with low rainfall, the development of communities and settlements relies on water sources such as wells and reservoirs. Therefore, COAF Campus, which is located in such an area, considered showing a new way of community and educational center by combining with water systems. Here, educational facilities are placed to collect and flow water using the differences in height. The water that children grow and play with plants upstream becomes agricultural water for AgroLand. The process of using water efficiently and gradually is visualized and incorporated into education. This becomes an innovative educational program that is necessary for this area, which cannot be learned at surrounding schools and is related to water. The architecture that is integrated with the irrigation system nurtures the lush AgroLand and enhances the value and symbolism of the COAF center along with the unique educational program that can only be found here.

COAFが掲げる教育理念である、3H(Hand, Head, Heart)と、灌漑用水に関係するビオトープ, 川, 貯水池を掛け合わせることで、新たな学習の軸であるGlow, View, Playを生み出す。灌漑用水の3つの場所がそれぞれに対応する学習の場所となり、季節や気温に応じた灌漑用水の変化も教育プログラムに取り込む。流線型の建築形態は灌漑用水の流れに緩やかに呼応することでランドスケープと調和し、人の流れを導く。建築の中心にある結節点では、様々な年代の生徒が混ざり合う交流の場となっており、イベントや展示スペース、自主学習スペースとして利用することができる。

By combining COAF's educational philosophy of 3H (Hand, Head, Heart) with biotopes, rivers, and reservoirs related to irrigation water, a new axis of learning, Glow, View, Play, is created. The three places related to irrigation water each become a learning place, and changes in irrigation water depending on the season and temperature are also incorporated into the educational program. The streamlined architectural form harmonizes with the landscape by gently responding to the flow of irrigation water and guides the flow of people. At the center of the building, a node becomes a place for exchange where students of various ages mix, and can be used as an event or exhibition space, as well as a self-study space.
